Early Religion

In the early 7th when Islam first arrived in Afghanistan, the eastern parts including Kabul, Peshawar and the Indus River were under Buddhist rule, while Zardasht maintained power in the western parts. People in western Afghanistan including those in Badghis, Bust, Heart, Zamindaver, and Poshang and in the northern parts extending to Balkh accepted Islam during the first century Hegira. The remaining people living in the eastern skirts of the Sulaiman Mountain, Spinghar and the Indus valley accepted Islam later.
