A protest against the Musharr-af regime in Pakistan was staged at Infirmary Fields in Bradford yesterday by Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir calling for the re-establishment of a Caliphate in the country.
The small demonstration attracted around 20 people.
Ali Khan, the protest organiser, said, "This demonstration aims to send a strong message that Muslims in Bradford do not accept this Western-backed dictator who bends over backwards to prosecute the US-led War on Terror in the region.

"We will call for a new leadership and new system in Pakistan by re-establishing the Caliphate. It is only the Caliphate that can take power away from the feudal landowners and the rich industrialists, implement a real rule of law, produce economic prosperity for the many and not the few and ensure political decisions on the future of Pakistan are made in Islamabad, not London or Washington." |
